Reducing Carbon Emissions
One of the benefits of choosing Australian (QLD) grown cotton and producing our period pants locally to our HQ (Melbourne) is we heavily reduce carbon emissions. Unfortunately it does have to go to the UK for processing due to a lack of local capabilities.
Once the cotton is milled and dyed in Melbourne, it goes straight to our sewing artists in Collingwood and onto us in the Eastern Suburbs. Minimising freight and handling kms goes a long way (by going a short way!).
This is an easy way for us as a business and you as an individual to lower our carbon footprint.
Yes, some of our fabric comes from overseas, as Australian fabric mills are few and local recycled or organic material manufacturing has been hard to source.
Our ultimate goal as we grow would be to use solely Australian grown or locally recycled materials and seek out renewably powered partners.
